What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign is an innovative alternative to traditional brace treatments, designed for people who want or need to avoid fixed braces and the “metal mouth” effect. Virtually invisible, this new alternative gradually moves your teeth in the desired direction with custom-made 3D printed clear aligners.

The main benefits of Invisalign are:

  • Invisible
With thin, clear aligners 3D printed to match your smile perfectly, Invisalign’s clear aligners are barely noticeable.
  • Removable
With this treatment, you don’t need to limit yourself from your favourite foods. Simply remove the aligners before eating and snap them back on when you’re done.
  • Efficient
Invisalign has already transformed thousands of smiles around the world. Recommended typically for milder cases, these brilliant clear aligners can be a powerful tool in the hands of an experienced orthodontist.

The Process

The Process

To understand how Invisalign works, here are the usual steps involved:

  • The first step of your journey will be your initial consultation with our orthodontist. During this appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your objectives and ask any questions you have.
  • The next step is the creation of your treatment plan based on a 3D scan of your teeth. The treatment plan will allow you to review the expected results in a time-lapse type video, showing the expected progress at each stage.
  • Patients will be wearing aligner sets in succession, with each one lasting for approximately two weeks and should only be removed when eating, drinking, and brushing teeth.
  • Teeth re-alignment will be observed as the patient goes through the aligner sets. These aligners were designed to reposition teeth, based on a custom-designed treatment plan, gradually. During treatment, patients will visit the orthodontist for progress checks to make sure that the treatment plan is being followed.
  • On average, a treatment program can be as short as nine months or as long as 36 months, depending on the teeth’s condition. The number of aligner sets can range from 18 to 30, also dependent on the complexity of the treatment plan.

Invisalign and Remote Dental Appointments

With the help of Dental Monitoring, remote dental appointments are now possible for people undergoing an Invisalign treatment. This new technology, opening a continuous virtual communication with your orthodontist, will not only free you to travel without worries during treatment but will also give you the chance to speed things up.

Dental monitoring converts your smartphone into a scan, allowing you to share updates with your orthodontist regularly. This regular communication helps your clinician track your progress closely and assign a change of aligner sets as soon as you’re ready, instead of waiting for your next appointment. It also helps us track your overall oral health, ensuring that you finish your treatment with a gorgeous and healthy smile.

Questions and Answers

  • Is Invisalign for me?

As the Invisalign System discreetly does its work, life can continue as normal. Only Invisalign aligners are trimmed to your exact gum line so you can comfortably wear your aligners for the recommended 22 hours a day with little disruption – so even when you’re not moving, your teeth will be. After starting your treatment, it won’t take long until you notice a big difference in your smile. You can use the My Invisalign Smile app to record your journey and compare your progress every time you change an aligner.

  • How much does Invisalign cost?

Although Invisalign comes in a few different treatment plans based on case complexity, no orthodontist can provide you with an exact cost before seeing you for a consultation. The overall health of your teeth, your bone structure and bone support, as well as the severity of your case – all of these factors and more will play a role when creating a quote for your treatment.

At 24H Emergency Dentist, we pride ourselves on working with experienced orthodontists, who can provide you with a detailed breakdown of your Invisalign offer and a comprehensive treatment plan.
